Uniforms

This week the Platypuses received a reminder about just how significant uniforms are in our culture. Last Monday there was Boy Scouts. Plenty of uniforms there.

ON Tuesday it was a different youth service organization... again in uniforms.   Wednesday was a suit and tie (the corporate uniform) for a Chamber of commerce meeting. BY Friday there was fast food place where the staff were all attired in uniforms.  Today a pro football game was on TV. More uniforms!

Why not trade these uniforms for the uniform of the human race once in a while: your bare skin!  Go naked. Feel what it is to be human. Feel great too. And it doesn' t have to cost you any money.

This uniform is free.

Looking to Super Bowl Sunday With a Sigh

It's that time of year when folks gather around their television sets to watch the big game that will determine the champions of the National Football League. Some nudist groups hold events in their clubhouses and that's a great way to experience the game sans clothes. Others among you may enjoy being bare at home as you watch. Still others will be clothed at parties where there's good food and good company, even if you must wear a team jersey instead of your birthday suit. Superbowl is usually bittersweet for the Platypus. On one hand, we're reminded of the incredibly stupid episode years ago when Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson were involved in a "wardrobe malfunction" that exposed a portion of one of Ms. Jackson's breasts for a millisecond on broadcast television. Naked Yard Ornaments Revisited

Some time back the Bare Platypus issued "A Call for Naked Yard Ornaments" in which we called upon fellow nudists to put a little nudity into their yard in the form of signs or statuary.  Read the post, which generated several comments, here:  A call for naked yard ornaments  . Maybe we were a bit too hasty. It seems that displaying something as innocuous as a garden gnome flashing his bare bum can get you into trouble - at least if you live in the U.K.  For example, consider this article which we read last week in which police threatened a man with arrest after a neighbor (who is also a retired police officer) complained, saying "his wife and children felt threatened for their safety" by the statuette:  Man faces arrest over naked gnome  .
